Everyone dreams of being able to earn a good living without having to toil for someone else. Part of that dream is not having to leave the comfort and security of your own home. Some legitimate home business opportunities exist. Thousands more so-called “home businesses” are little more than scams.
With the internet providing millions of people easy access to legitimate and scam opportunities, it is no wonder so many fall victim to these predatory scams. They advertise easy money and no work needed. Flashy cars and gorgeous mansions fill the advertisements. Anyone can be bewitched by such luxury.
Many types of scams exist. One of the silliest home business scams people fall for is stuffing envelopes. Flyers and internet ads guarantee thousands of dollars for the simple task of stuffing envelopes. You end up paying for advertising materials that you are supposed to distribute so that people will send you money and a self addressed stamped envelope, in hopes you’ll send them information on a home based business. You end up not getting anything; and you paid for it! Some business!
The money order scam can be pretty bad. A “company” claims to need third-party payment processing. As a processor, money order payments are sent to you by mail and you are to cash them at your bank. Deduct your pay and then wire the money to some specified foreign locale. Sounds good until you realize the money orders are fakes! You end up getting charged for the amount of the money orders, plus any bank fees owed. When that money is gone, it’s gone. For good. It’s a terrifying home business scam!
Another sort of home business scam exists. They offer a list of companies supposedly in need of home business workers. You pay them a fee. Then all you get is a phony list of companies that may never have hired home based employees! Another big one involves you being a spammer. In that scam, the point is to get people to pay you to show them how to be a spammer! All it amounts to is you spreading the scam.
Trouble usually hounds you when you mess with home business scams. You usually lose hard-earned money. If you are looking for work, losing money will not help. Valuable time will also be wasted. The last thing you want is legal troubles, and you may get them if you participate in a home business scam. Finding real home business opportunities takes caution!
If you are going to look, look smartly. Go to bbb.org and check out the business. Chances are that if they want money for working with them, they are probably scamming you. The golden rule is never, never give out too much personal information.
Real opportunities in home business are few, finding some can be tough. Watch out for scammers! Some real companies that need home based people include 1-800-FLOWERS, Easter Seals Home Telemarketers, and Ver-a-fast. The aforementioned companies offer real home business openings. Don’t be fooled out of your money by home business scams!
