Although most Internet entrepreneurs do not know why a split test is a useful tool, indeed it is. No one enjoys inputting time into an operation that will not have enjoyable outcome. This tool is used to assist the business in providing successful tactics to build a reputable company on the web.

When not using the Internet, it is simple to find out why your goods are not selling. You ask your customers. You can change a few prices, offer deals, etc. to bring in the customers.

Using the Internet to sell is different. The Internet entrepreneur is alone to figure out what is causing this glitch in sales.

When there are no visitors to a site, there will be no sales. When advertising, obviously the words are not keyed to detour traffic to the home page of your products. This is when a split test will rectify the situation. This test ensures how entwined the advertisement, leads to the home page, in turn offers the product, and so on.

The urgency of the split test is to save time. When you create a criteria that is used to sell, and you want to do a split test, you will have to generate a close copy of your data to do this test. Then run the ads against each other, monitoring which style produces more activity. Then use the better producing sales lines.

Constantly analyzing the results of a split test provides the benefits of depicting a perfect advertisement. This is time consuming, but the split test will result in reaping awesome benefits.

Ultimately, a computerized business will give you directions on how to do things. What is not offered is why the style used is not being productive. Also, there is no positive or negative feedback. This is like black and white, either your ad is effective or it isn’t. When you do a split test, the benefits are compensable because you will know exactly what to type and exactly how to present it.

Why All PPC Marketers Should Use Prosper202

Posted in affiliate marketing by Mike Wong on April 25th, 2009 | No Comments

The key to a successful PPC campaign is figuring out which of your keywords convert into leads, and which do not. So how do you figure out which keywords are the profitable ones? Enter Prosper202.

Prosper202 is a free, real-time PPC tracking software by the folks of Tracking202. It is self-hosted, which means that you will need to install it on your own web host. If you are planning on sending a large volume of traffic through Prosper202, then I would make sure you install it on a VPS or your own dedicated server.

Once installed, you can start setting up your individual campaigns to track. This is done through the setup tab, and you can see all the steps involved in the submenu. The first two steps are to put in your PPC accounts (Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing) and Affiliate Networks (FluxAds, NeverblueAds, etc) into the system.

Next, you will want to insert in the required information for the particular offer you are planning to send traffic to. The important step here is to input the correct affiliate url. You can get this from the CPA network you are currently using. Just make sure to include the subid parameter in the url so Prosper202 can pass along the subids correctly.

The campaign page also has the options to rotate urls and cloak your links. Rotating urls can be very useful as it allows you to test multiple offers and see which ones convert the best. Cloaking links is necessary because you never want to show your AM your traffic sources. When someone clicks on your cloaked link, the referrer will display as the domain you have installed Prosper202 on and not your actual landing page.

Landing pages are highly recommended for PPC (as opposed to direct-linking) and if you have one for this campaign, you will need to enter the details into the system. Prosper202 will then generate for you a snippet of javascript to insert into to your landing page and a url that you need to use to link to the offer. Once these are added to you landing page, Prosper202 will be able to handle tracking correctly.

Once this is all setup, you can get the links you need to use. These will be input into the PPC platform that you are using. Make sure to add in the extra keyword parameter if your PPC platform requires it. This will enable Prosper202 to track the keyword associated with a particular click.

To enable real-time tracking of your conversions, you can also get the global tracking pixel from Prosper202 and send it to your Affiliate Manager for placement. This pixel should get placed on the confirmation page of the offer you are running and will notify the tracking script whenever a lead or sale has been made. This is an optional step, but if you don’t do it, you will have to manually enter in the subids of the converting sales into Prosper202 yourself.

With everything setup properly, you should now be able to see exactly which keywords are leading to sales. By removing all the money-losing keywords from your PPC campaign, you should start to see your campaigns start making more and more money. As you can see, having a tracking system like Prosper202 is one of the keys to a successful PPC campaign.

The Quick Guide To Prosper202

Posted in affiliate marketing by Mike Wong on April 23rd, 2009 | No Comments

The key to a successful PPC campaign is figuring out which of your keywords convert into sales, and which do not. So how do you figure out which keywords are the profitable ones? Enter Prosper202.

Prosper202 was developed by Wes Mahler of Tracking202, and is free tracking script that offers real-time tracking of your PPC campaigns. You can get the script from their website, and you will need to host it on your own web host. However, it is recommended that if you are planning on sending a large amount of clicks through the script that you make sure and put it on its own dedicated server.

Once you have installed the script on your server, you will want to add a campaign into the system. In the setup section you will see the list of steps necessary to track your campaign. The first thing to do is to enter in any of your PPC Accounts (Adwords, Yahoo, MSN) and then put in any CPA networks you have joined. (Convert2Media, AmpedMedia, etc).

Next, you will want to add in the necessary info for the particular offer you are planning to send traffic to. The important step here is to input the correct affiliate url. You can get this from the affiliate network you are currently using. Just make sure to include the subid parameter in the url so Prosper202 can send along the subids correctly.

You also have the option here of cloaking your tracking link. You should usually do this as you never want anyone to see where your traffic is coming from. Your affiliate manager can find this out by just looking at your referrer. By cloaking your link, the referrer will show up as the domain name of where you installed Prosper202 on, and not the landing page itself.

Landing pages are highly recommended for PPC (as opposed to direct-linking) and if you have one for this campaign, you will need to enter the details into the system. Prosper202 will then give you a snippet of javascript to add to your landing page and a url that you need to use to link to the offer. Once these are added to you landing page, Prosper202 will be able to handle tracking correctly.

Lastly, you will need to get your links. This is the url that you will use when setting up your PPC campaign. You may need to include an extra parameter to it to track your keywords properly. This will depend on the PPC advertising platform you are using and is explained in detail on the page.

An optional step is to setup your global tracking pixel. You will need to give this to your Affiliate Manager to place on your offer’s confirmation page. Whenever someone clicks on one of your links and makes a lead or sale, your pixel will fire and Prosper202 will record it the sale in your stats. If you do not do this, then you will have to manually upload the converting subids from your affiliate network into Prosper202 yourself.

Once you have gotten everything setup, Prosper202 will handle the rest. You can see your clicks and leads in real-time using the Spy View, and you can see all the individual stats for each campaign in the overview page. Now you can figure out exactly which keywords are leading to sales and which ones are not. By having this info at your fingertips, you can take out those non converting keywords and start getting your PPC campaign profitable.

Information on Split Testing a Landing Page

Posted in affiliate marketing by Graham McKenzie on April 16th, 2009 | No Comments

The construction of a landing page is vital when starting a business on-line. Sometimes a page is doing an alright job, causing neglect. When you want to increase the amount of sales volume, you should consider split testing a landing page. The first thing that needs done, is to pick apart the entire page. Make sure the page expresses what is intended. A successful split test will show exactly how well a landing page converts into sales.

The goal of the split test is to make a page better than it originally was. Be sure of which adjustments will need to be made, and stick with them.

You want your landing page to have the option to adjust and readjust when needed. Make sure it is fairly simple to make adjustments.

Assure the headline used, meshes well with the remainder of the page. Stay with a theme and outline it as a draft. Then choose some fonts, or maybe bold, and italicize some key words. Also you can color coordinate your text with the scenery behind it, satisfying a visual appetite.

There will be a slight investment when split testing a landing page. You will need to acquire a domain, then put some time into producing a couple different web sites. Purchase Ad words and use this tool to get viewers within your sites. After that, check against the sites to come to the conclusion of which site gets the most attention.

Your site may get activity, but when you do a split test on a landing page, you will know if the visitors are buying anything. When the results from this test are analyzed correctly and the necessary changes are made. It is inevitable that your sales will increase dramatically.

Posted in ppc classroom 2.0 by admin on October 16th, 2008 | No Comments

Hi Anik & Amit,

This is my very first online video ever, and it’s obviously dedicated to the both of you (and my family). Thank you so much for the wealth of knowledge you share with the world. I hope you enjoy this video. It explains why I want to experience the PPC Classroom, how it will affect me, and why I have the drive/passion to succeed (like how I left my job in investments to strike out on my own and attain future happiness and career satisfaction through Internet Marketing).

I apologize for the lateness. I explained in an earlier submission (used as a placeholder) that I was having trouble uploading the video to an online video platform. I tried getting it in before the end of Sunday on Eastern Standard Time. However, I just now finally got it to work. I hope you accept it given the circumstances. Thank you for your understanding. I can’t wait to hear back from you, and I wish you two even greater prosperity for the future!

Warmest regards,

Homer

P.S. Oh ya, one more thing: Pick me! Pick me! *raises hand* :-)
