The people who are working 40 hours a week get paid for the 40 hours of effort they give to their jobs. This just means that they are earning money only for the hours they work. If a person gets sick and files an absence for the day, he will not get paid for that particular day. This is an example of earning a linear income. In today’s times, we all have to earn more than what we used to and this is where a residual income affiliate program comes in. Residual income is simply the income that comes in regularly after the effort has been done in the past.
What exactly is an affiliate program and how does it work? For starters, an affiliate program allows you to work from home on your own hours. It is a home business that many people are getting themselves into because of the rewards it brings them. Affiliate marketing is simply the online version of being sales agents in the real world.
In affiliate marketing, merchants pay those who get the sale for them through the promotion of their products. The people who promote the merchant’s products are called as affiliate marketers. Affiliate marketers aren’t directly hired by the merchant because they are the ones who offered to promote the merchant’s product. Simply speaking, the commission for each sale is what affiliate marketers are after.
An affiliate marketer can promote the merchant’s products by showcasing them in his own website or by doing article marketing. Every time a visitor clicks on an affiliate link, he gets directed to the sales page of the merchant. And if he does buy something from the merchant, the affiliate gets credited for the sale and is paid a percentage from it. For the merchant, paying an affiliate a finder’s fee for bringing a customer for the first time is very cost-efficient.
In most cases, this is very sensible. Several affiliates find this set-up to be convenient because they are very much into recruiting customers. But what a lot of affiliates miss out on is that a satisfied customer will always buy something from the same merchant. And even if the affiliate is the one who introduced the customer to the merchant, he will no longer get credit for the succeeding purchases a customer makes.
The good news here though is that there are merchants who offer a residual income affiliate program for their affiliates. With this type of program, the affiliate continually gets paid every time the customer buys something from the merchant. For the one-time effort of recruiting a customer, the affiliate can gain a lifetime of commissions. Now, isn’t that great?
When merchants offer residual income to their affiliates, they are encouraging these affiliates to constantly promote their products. If a customer you recruited in the past continues to buy from the merchant, you get paid a commission as long as they stay with the merchant. This is definitely a good way to earn money from home.
With money coming in each month from residual income, affiliate can now bring their business to a higher level through expansion. Now, they don’t have to focus their efforts on one campaign only. And with the checks rolling in monthly, they need not worry about taking the risk of launching another affiliate marketing campaign.
